This week, four contestants, The Bastard, Miguels111, Unessential, & LLamah dared face our Grand Masters Ganelon, Hyphen-ated, & DNGR S PAPERCUT in a battle for the high-score & bragging rights.

The Game is Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, a head to head fighting game that has stood the test of time & is still played in arcades & online lobbies around the world.

Our players this week competed using Chun Li. “Chun is ranked high mid-tier. There are certain characters that she dominates, certain characters she has even matches with, and certain characters who dominate her.” – from wiki.shoryuken.com/Chun-Li_(ST)

Our Grand Masters were free to choose their character of choice, & be assured they did not make this easy for our players!

How the Grand Master Challenge  works:

First Round: “Elimination”

Each player gets one best 3 out of 5 games against each of our first round Grand Masters. A win is worth 1 point, a loss, 0 points. 1st & 2nd place move on the the final round while 3rd & 4th place are eliminated.

Tiebreaker: “Mirror Match”

In the event of a tie between 2nd & 3rd place will the players face each other in one game for the winning  point.

Final Round: “Last Man Standing”

The two players left standing will face the final round Grand Master in one best 3 out of 5 games each. (The player who finished 2nd goes up first.)

Tiebreaker: “Mirror Match”

In the event of a tie, the contestants will face each other in one last game for the winning point!
